Baby, it’s hot outside

We got in late last night to Thailand, due to a two hour delay on our flight. Had a quick dinner of Burger King, despite our appetites being shot.

Started the day with a taxi ride out to the floating market.

Had a few small bits of food, since it was just too darned hot. To start we had mini Thai pancakes, with cream and egg yolk and coconut. The coconut one had a slight spiciness to it. We followed that up with pork on toast with a sauce that was a cross between honey and vinegar…either way really tasty.

We proceeded to the Bangkok National Museum, and we lucked out as it was free admission until after New Year’s. Lots of Buddhist relics as well as relics from earlier kings and their family.

Next up was Wat Arun. Pictures do not do this place justice in any way.

It was a nice treat to pause in a fanned area, while still sitting outside. This gave us energy to figure out our next move to the Chatuchak Weekend Market. As an aside, their trains here, both BTS and MTR are so nice, with ice cold AC.

Plenty of food to be had, we had a crepe with shredded pork and a fresh egg, octopus with spicy sauce, and mango sticky rice.

Tonight is another early night, as it’s laundry night again. Tomorrow brings the Grand Palace and a few other temples, and hopefully an appetite for a really good dinner.
