Train-ing for the food olympics
Today is another short post/travel day. We concluded our onsen break today, by having another large Japanese breakfast, followed by another nap (much needed as it was quite warm last night.
Before we left, we encountered (or were ambushed by) a group of elementary school kids who were practicing their English. Very cute, and very friendly bunch of kids. After a prolonged goodbye, we hopped on to our tram to head to Matsuyama Station…..
….or Matsuyama City Station, which we quickly realized was not where we wanted to be. Another quick tram ride got us to the JR Matsuyama Station, and the beginning of nearly 5 hours of train. More konbini food to be had.
After a slightly less jerky train ride, and Shinkansen, and subway ride, we arrived at our hotel here in Kyoto. I should say Apart’Hotel as they call it, as it comes with a kitchen.
Dinner was had at Tenka Ippin, and damn this might be one of the best ramen I’ve had ever.
We had a much needed long walk back to our hotel afterwards. Tomorrow should return us to normal activities, though dinner will not be a restaurant, but a visit to a local friend of my friend. I leave you with a very blue ocean we were riding along shortly after leaving Matsuyama and wish you a good night.
