Any way you slice it…

After the nice break in the clouds yesterday, the skies prepared themselves for the evening to come of rain. We started out morning once again shopping for more bento deliciousness. Today was also the first of several jaunts on the Shinkansen. Alas, as much of a speed freak I can be, had to rein that

Cleanse it with fire!

Today was the first of our day trips out of Osaka. Our day trip was to Nara, and the Todaji temple, and the surrounding area. Before we headed out, we made a pitstop at Shin-Osaka station to a shop called Eki-Ben.

Living and Swimming

What a difference a good night of sleep makes! With great rest comes a bigger appetite. There’s no better way to cure morning hunger than with a visit to a bakery! Unfortunately, we were so quick to eat that no pictures of said baked goods were taken. There will be more baked goodies, so expect

Osaka!

It’s that time for my semi-annual three weeks of therapy, also known as vacation. This time around we’re off to Japan (Osaka, Hiroshima, Matsuyama, Kyoto, Nagoya, Takayama and Toyama). We’re starting off in Osaka.

Breakfast foods are the best

It’s important to start your day off right, and what better way to start your day then with a breakfast at Whisk, a Ron Swanson themed restaurant.

Smooth as Glass

So begins another trip. This time our travels will be taking us to Chicago for the Laver Cup, and then off to Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna. As far as walkways in airports go, I do appreciate how bright this one at O’Hare is. I also love how convenient their transit is (looking at you, SFO).

All good things…

The last few days were relatively low-key and was mostly transit and eating, so will lump them all into this last update for this trip. Our last full day in Chiang Mai starts with breakfast at the hotel. We had the three dish rice soup (all the veggies!) We then skipped the heat of the
