Down, down, down
Yesterday was a nice low-key day to travel out to the farmstay in Phong Nha. We taxied out to Hue’s train station (~33000 fare), only to realize we were way early.

Continuing through the Imperial Citadel, we made our way to the Royal Theater.
The morning got off to a good start with a large breakfast buffet at the hotel. After this, our tour guide Danny, along with our driver, Mr. D, picked us up and took us to our first stop, the Thien Mu pagoda, meaning heavenly lady.
We had some time to kill before flying out to Hue, so we paid a visit to the Temple of Literature near Old Hanoi. This was the home of scholars over many centuries of those studying Confucianism from its open in 1076 until 1779.
Today was mostly a transit day, heading back from the cruise ship and back to Hanoi. Before they took us back to Hanoi, we stopped by Yen Duc Village for the water puppet show. Unfortunately, we couldn’t understand most of it, but from the small blurbs they prefaced each number with, they talked about their
Having a slow start to the vacation has helped combat jet lag so much. We finally slept decently, if not in long spurts. Our morning started with tai chi, which definitely helped after yesterday’s kayaking adventures. This was followed by a tasty breakfast. We had the option of pho (beef/chicken) or eggs and toast. I
Day two had us up and at ’em early. Turns out neither of us slept well. The hotel provided a tasty breakfast, including more dragonfruit. Various noodles, greens, and meats were on tap, along with some tasty passion fruit juice.
Nothing refreshes you like a solid sleep in a plane seat. Ok, I couldn’t type that with a straight face. Both of us are still. If you get a chance to watch a movie called Fat Choi Spirit, do it. I haven’t laughed that hard at a movie in a long time. Even better, we
